Soil Ventures · Indian Origin
Gangetic Plain Vetiver · High-Grade PerfumeryIndia's finest Vetiver — grown with co-operatives, distilled with expertise. Steam-distilled from the Gangetic plains and revered by master perfumers worldwide for unmatched smoky, earthy depth.
No oil commands more reverence among master perfumers than genuine Indian Vetiver — Khus. Grown in the alluvial soils of the Gangetic plain, its roots descend 2–4 metres into mineral-rich earth, producing an oil of unmatched depth: smoky, woody, earthy, with a whisper of violet and wet soil after rain.
Farm-direct, traced to individual fields, steam-distilled on-farm within 48 hours of harvest, available with full GC/MS documentation for perfumers and ingredient houses worldwide.
The Gangetic alluvial soil allows vetiver roots to penetrate 2–4 metres deep — far deeper than most growing regions. This extended root zone draws on a unique mineral profile that produces the complex sesquiterpene fingerprint prized by the world's finest perfumers.
Available with full GC/MS documentation including all key sesquiterpene markers — the transparency that ingredient houses and natural perfumers require.
"I grew up smelling the earth after rain. That same earth now gives the world its finest vetiver."
Soil Ventures was born from the vision of Subhash Kumar — a young farmer, sustainable perfumery enthusiast, and CSIR-CIMAP-trained entrepreneur from the Gangetic plains, who built one of India's most respected farm-to-trade aromatic oil concepts.
Subhash's work bridges traditional Indian agronomy with the demands of the global fragrance and flavour industry. His deep understanding of vetiver, soil health, and the need for sustainable ecological development in rural India — shaped in collaboration with CIMAP researchers — sets Soil Ventures apart from commodity traders.
Today, the company works across India: Gangetic plain vetiver, lemongrass, basil, and rosewater from the Himalayan foothills — a truly PAN India aromatic portfolio built on trust, science and the farmer's knowledge of the land.
Soil Ventures supplies perfumers, cosmetic formulators, Ayurvedic brands, food and flavour houses, and aromatic farmers across India and internationally — from sample quantities to full seasonal contracts.
